For the Emilian, or the people pertaining to the region of Emilia Romagna, aceto balsamico, or balsamic vinegar is a common thing. Not one home exists in the Modena area that doesn’t have at least one bottle of it. For those who do not have a comprehensive knowledge of the word itself “aceto or vinegar” is misleading, as aceto balsamico is not used like a vinegar but as a balsam.
